Assessing the importance of reoperation in overall survival in pediatric malignant brain tumors

Numerous studies have shown a survival benefit association with increased extent of resection, and particularly in children that have had a gross total resection for malignant brain tumors at the time of initial diagnosis. However, it is unknown if reoperation with the goal of a GTR/NTR for pediatric malignant brain tumors at recurrence/progression increases OS and functional outcomes.
