Detection of cooperative and mutually exclusive genetic alterations in pediatric cancer

Cancers arise and progress by acquiring combinations of mutations in the genome, genetic interactions are specific combinations of mutations in gene pairs that have an unexpected effects. In this project, we will study genetic interactions in childhood cancer and their relationship with different cancer types. Our goal is to gain more insight in the underlying mechanisms of childhood cancer development and progression, as well as to propose more effective drug treatments.
