GDF15 in Pediatric Neuro-Oncology Patients

We intend to better understand the role of inflammation in pediatric brain tumors, specifically GDF15 which has been associated with cachexia and higher rates of complications in adults with cancer. We will evaluate if GDF15 is expressed in higher magnitudes in different pediatric brain tumors. Finally, we hope to determine if there is an association between GDF15 and worse event free survival and/or overall survival.
