A Study of Outcomes in Patients with CNS Tumors with BCOR Mutations

When treating patients with pediatric brain cancers, it is not only important to identify the tumor type, but also any mutations associated with that tumor type. One example of such a mutation is central nervous system tumors with BCOR mutation. BCL6 corepressor (BCOR) is a gene that encodes the BCL-6 corepressor protein. A corepresser protein is a protein that suppresses the expression of genes, and in this case could play a role in the development of cancers and outcomes for patients with such mutations. The design of this study is to complete a retrospective chart review of patients with tumors containing BCOR mutations to study differences in outcomes based on genetic variants, tumor type, age, or treatment regimens. Researchers hope to learn more about how tumors with BCOR mutations behave and understand more about the differences in tumor types and outcomes including progression-free survival and overall survival of patients. The Pediatric Brain Tumor Atlas will provide researchers with comprehensive data on pediatric brain tumors with BCOR mutations.
