Methylation Profiling of Pediatric Brain Tumors

The CBTN represents an ideal source for the required specimens because: 1) there is a large number of them lending analytic and statistical strength to the classification and correlative analyses, 2) the samples’ clinical annotation will further inform the characterization of cases, particularly those on the edge of clusters, 3) methylation data will be a valuable addition to the multi-layered datasets being constructed within the CBTN, 4) the presence of RNA-seq will allow the performance of correlative analyses, 5) the availability of outcome data will provide the opportunity to identify prognostic markers, and 6) this collaboration will further strengthen developing ties between CBTN and NCI initiatives such as the Gabrielle Miller Kids First Data Resource and the Children’s Cancer Data Initiative.
