Located in Akron, Ohio, Akron Children's has been caring for children since 1890. With two hospital campuses, 6 regional health centers and 50+ primary and specialty care locations throughout Ohio, Akron Children’s supports more than one million patient visits each year.
Akron Children’s ranked in the top 40 in five categories this year, improving their positions in Endocrinology, Neonatology and Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery. Akron Children’s is recognized in two new subspecialties, Orthopedics and Pulmonology & Thoracic Surgery. Akron Children's specially trained and certified oncology staff treats a variety of pediatric cancers and offers a broad range of expertise in cancer and bleeding disorders.
On average, Akron Children's cares for eight newly-diagnosed children with cancer each month. As a member of Children’s Oncology Group (COG), Akron Children's participates in the development of National Cancer Institute-approved treatment protocols as one of only about a dozen pediatric cancer programs in the country verified by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
