Dr. Aguilar-Bonilla is a board-certified pediatric neuro-oncologist at The Haley Center for Children's Cancer and Blood Disorders at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children where she treats children with brain tumors.
Born and raised in San Salvador, El Salvador, Dr. Aguilar-Bonilla earned her medical degree from Universidad Evangelica de El Salvador, and completed a pediatric residency at State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical Center. She then completed a pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship, followed by advanced pediatric hematology-oncology fellowship training at Children’s Hospital Oakland in California. Dr. Aguilar-Bonilla also completed a pediatric neuro-oncology fellowship at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
Dr. Aguilar-Bonilla’s clinical interests include phase I/II clinical trials and new therapies. She received the St. Baldrick’s Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellowship for Childhood Cancer 2012-14 Research Grant. Her interests also include international outreach to Latin America.
Dr. Aguilar-Bonilla serves as a peer-reviewer for the Journal of Neuro-Oncology and Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. Her research has been published and presented at numerous seminars and national meetings.
