Ask the scientists

What are the goals of this project?

To identify and compare the mutations driving the pathogenesis of various brain tumors in pediatric and adult patients. We will use the genomic data in the cBioPortal and PedcBioPortal to determine if any mutations are more frequent drivers of pediatric brain tumor pathologies than analogous tumors in adults.

Why is the CBTN request important to this project?

The compiled genomic data provided by CBTTC will be key to this project, as we will need large sample sizes of pediatric and adult tumors to draw conclusions about the key mutations driving tumorigenesis of specific cancers in both populations.
