Professor, Brain and Tumor Neurosurgery Neurosurgery
Thomas Jefferson University Hospital
Dr. Kevin D. Judy has maintained a clinical brain tumor practice and academic brain tumor research program in Philadelphia for over 25 years, having been named to Philadelphia Magazine’s Top Docs annually since 2005. Providing treatment and support for his brain tumor patients is the driving goal of his practice. His research has been supported by National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding as well as industry grants. He is the principle investigator for an immune therapy vaccine to treat glioblastoma that has completed 2 clinical trials. Since 2014 he has been on the Board of Directors of the Darren Daulton Foundation, a nonprofit foundation established by the Phillies’ Darren Daulton to provide financial assistance to brain tumor patients. Dr. Judy is the 2019 recipient of the Johns Hopkins Department of Neurosurgery Alumni Achievement Award.
A Comparison of Hallmark Mutations in Pediatric and Adult Brain Tumors
The WHO classification of brain tumors puts heavy emphasis on the molecular genetics that drive the pathogenesis of these tumors. It is still unclear if there are other genetic targets that could be targeted with novel therapies. We are interested in different genomic factors that drive the pathogenesis of these tumors in hopes of finding additional treatment of options that produce more favorable outcomes. We hope to further characterize the genetics of brain tumors pathogenesis, in hopes of advancing this therapeutic research.
